Recently, McWong Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CECEP Guozhen, successfully transformed sludge generated from chemical wastewater treatment from hazardous waste into general solid waste through precise and efficient process upgrades. This breakthrough reduced sludge disposal costs by 80%, saving the client over RMB 10 million annually while cutting McWong’s own annual expenses by RMB 2 million, achieving both environmental and economic benefits.
The technical team implemented targeted improvements from the source: strictly controlling influent quality to block highly toxic wastewater, finely regulating dissolved oxygen in the AO tank to increase pollutant removal efficiency to over 98%, and scientifically maintaining sludge activity while using non-toxic PAM flocculants to reduce sludge toxicity. To consistently meet standards for toxicity and heavy metal indicators, the team continuously monitored data, dynamically optimized process parameters, and established standardized procedures after achieving full compliance. A technical support group was also stationed on-site to ensure stable operation through data-driven process innovation.
Throughout the project, McWong maintained regular communication with the client, sharing water quality data and disposal costs in periodic technical meetings, and jointly developing optimization plans for efficient collaboration. Building on this success, the team plans to explore sludge resource utilization, such as recovering organic matter and minerals, promote the application of new technologies, processes, materials and equipment, and establish a full-cycle cost control mechanism to further reduce expenses through collective bargaining and domestic alternatives.
