China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP) joined hands with the National Energy Conservation Center to hold an Exchange Meeting on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Policy and Technology and a series of business activities on November 6 during the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE). They also opened an Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Experience Zone for CIIE this year. Song Xin, chairman of CECEP, attended the exchange meeting and delivered a keynote speech. 

In his speech, Song noted that the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee with Xi Jinping at the core proposed establishing a “dual circulation” development pattern in which domestic economic cycle plays a leading role while international economic cycle remains its extension and supplement against a backdrop of the changing, complex international situation and the grave challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic to the global economy. Under the new development pattern, China needs to better balance the relationship between economic growth and environmental protection. CECEP will resolutely carry out the important decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee and the government by taking an active part in the campaign to fight pollution as a main force in ecological progress and conducting cooperation and exchange with government departments, enterprises, universities and research institutions both at home and abroad as well as international organizations. CECEP is willing to work together with partners from various sectors all over the world through pragmatic cooperation to promote “mutual opening up that features shared benefits, shared responsibilities and shared governance” and make greater contributions to building a Beautiful China and a clean, beautiful world. 

CECEP and Japan-based JGC Corporation sign a strategic cooperation agreement at the meeting, according to which the two sides will conduct cooperation on solid waste disposal and infrastructure construction. 

Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center (Shanghai Energy Conservation Service Center) signs a strategic cooperation agreement with CECEP Industrial Energy Conservation Co., Ltd., KAESER KOMPRESSOREN System Shanghai Co., Ltd. and Ebara Refrigeration Equipment & Systems (China) Co., Ltd., according to which the four parties will conduct cooperation in fields such as industrial internet and intelligent energy. 

Distinguished guests visit the Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Experience Zone at the CIIE after the meeting. 

The Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Experience Zone, jointly set up by CECEP and the National Energy Conservation Center, covers 10,000 square meters. It attracted more than 100 international exhibitors as well as 100,000 visitors during the CIIE.
