On June 19, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Contact Office of Chinese Companies in Saudi Arabia (COCC) held the 2024 COCC annual meeting in Riyadh. The meeting reviewed and honored outstanding Chinese-funded companies, projects, managers and individuals engaged in Sino-Saudi cooperation and mutual support.
Standing out among nearly twenty nominees, CGM’s precision geological mapping project in Saudi Arabia’s Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS) region received the “Outstanding Chinese-funded Project in Saudi Arabia 2024” award.?
The project, awarded on October 10, 2022, represents China’s largest internationally bid geological survey to date. So far, it has completed detailed field geological mapping, sample collection and data establishment across 39 map sheets—covering approximately 109,000 square kilometers. Laboratory analyses are progressing smoothly, and all phases of the project are being carried out in a well organized, planned manner.
